Aaron I'm not a videogamer, never have been, but I can definitely see why Hexadecimal should be listened to, straight thru, one track after the next. I definitely feel the adventure I'm on. So far my favorite tracks are Power Vaccum, A Doorway Thru Worlds, The Fated Hour, and This Ends Here. Not only does this sound like it was made for video games, it has a lot of other-worldly, eastern vibes to it. A Doorway Thru World even has some Danny Elfman vibes in there that I really enjoyed.

about

Hexadecimal is an impressionist, synth-driven instrumental soundtrack to a piece of media that doesn't exist. Inspired by sweeping sci-fi settings, cyberpunk novels and 90s video game soundtracks.

This album spans a wide range of mood and genre, with high energy synth funk given room to breathe against moments of thoughtful reflection, melancholy and ambient calm. These songs are blended together with the dynamic tempo changes that mirror the shifts in our musical journey. These 16 tracks are intended to flow together to suggest the pilgrimage of a mysterious protagonist through an arcane, futuristic landscape.

The music on this album was inspired and influenced in equal parts by video game soundtracks from the likes of Mitsuda, Nakamura and Uematsu as well groove-centric rock of Les Claypool and Primus. The occasional musical quotations of these artists throughout the record are intended as a wink and nod to fellow fans of this music.
